This community is amazing! The response from everyone in providing immediate items for our families impacted by the fire at Westbard has been incredible. Thanks to your generosity, a pantry has been set up at the hotel with toiletries, snacks, fresh fruit, games and clothing.
The families were so appreciative to be able to get key staples and things they weren't able to bring with them. The pantry is set up so they can access it at anytime.
The amount of support has been overwhelming. We have an ample supply of snacks and many of the toiletries to keep the pantry well stocked for the estimated time the families will be out of their homes.
We have updated the Amazon Wish list accordingly to narrow it down to items still needed as well as a couple of requests that came in from the kids for some of their favorite treats :)
Thanks to the Whitman Education Foundation, working with Nourishing Bethesda, there will be a large drop off of produce for the families on Friday.
We have also added gift cards. This is a great way to support a family directly and help them get the specific items they need. Gift cards will be delivered directly to the schools and the 3 principals will distribute to families according to need. You can also purchase a gift card and drop off with your schools front office.
Thank you again for your generosity and for everyone who has helped with dinners and deliveries (and offered to help.) We are so lucky to be in such a caring community.
